No. 1 Soccer Camps is excited to be back this summer at UCCS in Colorado Springs, Colorado. No.1 has conducted camps in Colorado for 30 years, most recently at Fountain Valley School since 1997 and the University of Northern Colorado and University of Denver prior to 1997. Campers attending the No.1 Striker Camp or No.1 Goalkeeper Camp sessions in Colorado have literally come from all over the country and internationally with campers from Mexico, India and Sweden in prior years. Many also come from Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder, Pueblo, Aurora, and Ft. Collins areas.
No.1’s new Colorado location, UCCS, features unmatched facilities to host a soccer camp. Campers will be residing in state of the art housing villages featuring suite style rooms with private bathrooms, extra long twin beds, desks and several common lounge areas.

All meals will be served at the UCCS Dining Hall on campus which features a wide variety of choices. Campers will also have access to UCCS state of the art swimming pool in the Aquatics Center to relax and regenerate during the week.
The No.1 Soccer Camp at UCCS will be under the direction of Regional Director Johnnie Keen the Head Soccer Coach at UCCS. Head Men’s Soccer Coach Johnnie Keen has continued to lead UCCS to new heights. His team regularly plays nationally ranked opponents, and in 2016 finished with a 12-7-1 record. In 2016 he once again led the Mountain Lions to the Conference Semi-Finals.
Keen led UCCS to a 13-5 record in 2015 to tie the season win record and set a new record for win-loss percentage. The Mountain Lions hosted their second home playoff game in program history as the No. 3 seed in the RMAC Tournament.
UCCS reached the championship game of the conference tournament in 2014, the program’s second trip to the title game. The Mountain Lions overcame a 3-0 halftime deficit in the first round at Fort Lewis, defeated the regular season champion Colorado Mesa in the semifinals, and then went to a penalty kick shootout against Colorado Mines in the championship game.
Prior to taking over as head coach, Keen worked with former head coach Henry Ellis, who retired after the 2011 season, to rebuild the UCCS men’s soccer program. The process has come as the depth of RMAC men’s soccer has grown deeper during the years.
Before arriving in Colorado Springs, Keen worked with the City of Charleston, S.C., in the youth soccer program and with the under-18 Columbia (S.C.) Soccer Club. He also spent time with the Mount Pleasant Soccer Club as an assistant coach for the under-16 and under-17 premier boys and as the head coach for the under-18 classic boys.
In the 2003-04 season, Keen was the club coach for the Port City Soccer Club in Wilmington, N.C., and served as a practice coach for all of the teams in the program. He was an assistant coach for The Citadel from 2001-03, and was the Director and Head Trainer for The Citadel Soccer Camps. He was the Player Coach at the camps in 1999-2000.
