Dr. Joe served as Assistant Coach to the 1990 United States World Cup team and was awarded a FIFA bronze medal as Assistant Coach of the United States National Five-A Side team at the World Championships in 1989. Machnik’s coaching and officiating career highlights include:

  • Being Named a NCAA Collegiate All-American
  • Led five different teams to the NCAA/NAIA National Championship Finals
  • Coaching New York Arrows, Major Indoor Soccer League
  • Officiated NCAA Finals and two MISL All-Star games
  • Deputy Commissioner for Soccer Competition for the 1995 World Special Olympics
  • Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner for on-field competition, Major League Soccer
  • Being Named to the Athletic Hall of Fame at Long Island University and University of New Haven
  • Connecticut and New England Soccer Hall of Fame
  • National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association Hall of Fame
  • FIFA/CONCACAF Match Commissioner
